Students who successfully complete the module:
- can understand texts on a wide range of topics in the modern world, including basic terminology in the field of study,
- can understand texts on a variety of topics related to contemporary issues, including those which contain basic terminology within the field of study,
- can take an active part in discussions on familiar topics,
- can prepare and deliver oral presentations.

During the semester, the student may be awarded maximum 100 points:
- 60 points for one or more tests. One test will include elements of reading and listening comprehension;
- 40 points for different types of projects and assignments, including speaking tasks.
The final grade is calculated according to the number of points awarded during the whole semester.
Grading system:
Unsatisfactory (grade 2.0):
The student's overall score for the semester is below 51 points.
Satisfactory (grade 3.0):
The student's overall score for the semester is in the range of 51 - 60 points.
Satisfactory + (grade 3.5):
The student's overall score for the semester is in the range of 61 - 70 points.
Good (grade 4.0):
The student's overall score for the semester is in the range of 71 - 80 points.
Good + (grade 4.5):
The student's overall score for the semester is in the range of 81 - 90 points.
Excellent (grade 5.0)
The student's overall score for the semester is in the range of 91 - 100 points.
