Mathematical Methods in Electronics TS2B200008
Course content:
- first order linear ordinary differential equations (ODE); Cauchy problem; existence and uniquess of solution; system of equations; homogeneous second order ODE; reduction of orders; implementation of transform method;
- partial differential equations (PDE); classification of boundary value problems; methods of characteristics; Fourier and Laplace transform; series solutions of second PDE;
- differential and integral formulation of electrical engineering problems; examples of the IVP and BVP.
Learning outcomes:
A student has gained knowledge of application of ODE and PDE to problems connected with electrical engineering.
A student has gained practical skills to:
- carry out solution of EE problems stated by ODE/PDE,
- implement transform method to analyze EE case problems,
- use analytical general method and some its computer implementation to solve problems.
- verify the obtained solutions,
- interpret physical significance of solution.
