Optical Fibre Technology 2 TS1A612287
Course content:
Materials used in optical fibre production. Evaluation of glass parameters on the basis of chemical composition. Methods of optical fibre production (rod-in-tube and crucible method, MCVD, OVD, VAD). Technological equipment. Protection of optical fibres against the influence of external factors. Durability tests.
Learning outcomes:
Knowlegde of manufacturing and properties of optical fibres and glasses.
