Architecture of Computer Systems TS1A410202
Course content:Review of computer systems and technologies. Architecture of computer systems. Properties of RISC, CISC architectures and Harvard, von Neuman architectures. Data representation and arithmetic. Role and architecture of computer system components; microprocessor, memory, system bus, memory cache, interrupts, DMA, input/output, serial and parallel interfaces. Execution speed enhancement; parallel processing, pipelining, caching, branch prediction, RISC kernel, multiple processor systems.
Learning outcomes:Student is familiar with data representation and arithmetic. He understands role and architecture of computer system components.
