Content-based Image Retrieval PI_ITI2102
Course content:
1. Introduction to the CBIR. Basic approaches to image data analysis in modern CBIR systems,
2. Feature extraction from image data. The basic algorithms employed in CBIR.
3. Color spaces. Conversions between color spaces.
4. Feature extractions from spectral domain. Image thresholding as a method for the generation of the sub-images.
5. The simple CBIR system - the modules, the implementations. Extraction of the texture properties.
6. Indexing of image signatures. Shape descriptors.
7. New approaches and algortihms in CBIR.
8. The examination of the knowledge.
Learning outcomes:
The knowledge of the most important and significant algorithms in Content-based Image Retrieval.
