Modelling and Simulation of Computer Networks PI_ITI1201
Course content:
1. References, introduction to SIMSCRIPT language. Repetition, control statements, program structure.
2. Text, alpha variables, recursive routine, select statement, LIST statement.
3. Input/output concepts, search capability, COMPUTE statement, format lists.
4. Modeling structures, entities, attributes, sets.
5. temporary entities, permanent entities, system atributes, etnity sets.
6. Discrete simulation concepts, system models, evants, processes.
7. The simulation mechanism, clok, process interactions, resources. Modeling statistical phenomena, ACCUMULATE and TALLY statements.
8. Introduction to Network Simulator - ns.
Learning outcomes:
Competence in building simulation models of dymanic systems and competence in obtaining the main performance measures in computer systems and networks.
