Course content - lecture :
1. Introduction to the lectures, curriculum and assessment criteria.
2. Fundamentals of mathematics and information theory.
3. Symmetric cryptosystems (DES, IDEA, Blowfish).
4. Public key cryptosystems.
5. Elliptic Curve cryptosystems.
6. Digital signature algorithm.
7. Quantum Cryptography. Physical unclonable function.
8. Network Security.
Course content - specialist lab: Analysis of selected problems introduced during lectures.
Learning outcomes: After the course the student will have a theoretical knowledge of the intellectual property protection and existing algorithms to encrypt and secure information such as digital signatures, hashing funtions, steganography, watermarking.
