Landscape Ecology OK3030
Course content:
Lecture: Basic definitions and terms used in the landscape ecology. The elements, features, parts and units of the landscape. 'Patch - corridor - landscape matrix' pattern.
Biogeographic theory of the islands, landscape patches as the environmental islands. Limits, ecotones and barriers in the landscape pattern. Biodiversity of the landscapes of different spatial patterns. Plant and animal populations in the landscapes of different spatial patterns. Methods of the analysis of the spatial structure of the landscape.
Classification and the typology of the landscape. Anthropogenic changes of the landscape.
Design:
Analysis of the spatial pattern of the landscape. Analysis of connections between different elements of the landscape.
Map of the landscpe units.
Learning outcomes:
Understanding of the relations between the differnt elements of the landscape. Practical use of landscape studies and analysis.
