Metrology I MIBN03016A
Course content:
Lecture: definitions and basic concepts: a quantity, a value, a unit of measure, a measurement, a measurement result, measurement methods. Systematic and random errors, the measurement uncertainty, the measurement result. Principles of operation and metrological characteristics of measuring tools (standards, transducers, sensors), A/C transducers and processing, measurement systems. Electic measurements of non-electric quantities.
Auditory exercises: Systematic and random errors, the uncertainty of measurement, practical development of measurement result.
Laboratory exercises: measurements of outside, inside and mixed dimensions and surface roughness using universal measuring tools.
Learning outcomes: student applies methods of errors determination, calculates systematic errors and uncertainty of measurements, describes the operating principles and characteristics of tools for measurements, describes structure and organisation of measurement system
