Module content:
Lecture: The terms used in automation: signal, component, system automation, regulation and control. The equations describing the properties of automation components. Transfer function and spectral. Static and dynamic properties of elements - static, time, frequency characteristics. Basic linear automation units. Mathematical description of linear control systems. Construction and transformation of block diagrams. Objects regulation - types, properties. Regulators - types and properties of dynamic controls. Linear stability of automatic control systems. Criteria for stability determining. Static accuracy. Dynamic quality. PID controller - tuning. Boolean algebra. Creating logical functions. Minimization of Boolean functions using Karnaugh tables. Synthesis of combinational systems. Examples of systems of regulation and control.

Learning outcomes
- having knowledge of methods for testing linear systems (stability, statical accuracy, dynamic quality);
- having basic knowledge of logic system - create, minimization and implementation of logic functions;
- having knowledge of description of element and control automation system and determination of static and dynamic parameters (static, dynamic characteristics);
- having knowledge of design principles of simple control systems, taking into account the work conditions, selection of equipment and settings of PID controller;
- knowing knowledge of the analysis, building and minimization of logic functions implemented in digital systems
Assessment criteria
Lecture - written examination, oral examination, one homework; Exercise - written examination;
Laboratory - assessment reports, checking preparations for exercises.
