Course content:
Basic soil properties, soil classification and compaction. Earthworks performing technology. Mechanization of earthworks - characteristics of road machines. Computations of earthwork volume - cross sections applied in earthworks. Basis of drainage computations. Road drainage basis. Surface and subterranean drainage systems for draining and absorbing of water. Modern material solutions used in culverts.

Learning outcomes:
Preparing students for designing, making and supervising basic communications earth buildings. Acquiring the ability of dimensioning of drainage surface facilities. Preparing students to cooperation with specialists of other branches related to road construction.
