Syllabus: Introduction to the study of the future. Method constructing the future. Forecasting in technology. The idea of foresight. Conditions for the application of foresight. History of the foresight process. Types and categories of foresight. The essence of technology foresight. Foresight vs. strategic planning. Foresight vs. forecasting. Technology foresight and the management of technology. The methods used in foresight projects: quantitative methods, qualitative methods (brainstorming, STEEPV, SWOT analysis, Delphi method, the method of key technologies, scenarios - both formal and informal techniques, weak signals, wild cards, technology roadmapping). Organization and carrying out foresight exercises. Experience in conducting foresight projects in Poland and all the world.

Learning outcomes
student: indicates the essence of the most vital aspects and foresight technology, discusses the evolution and typology of foresight (in relation to the experience of Polish and foreign), presents its elements, has the ability in the field of design methodology foresight research initiatives and specific application
foresight methods selected, correctly interprets the role of foresight in the process of network management of manufacturing and engineering, strategic planning, forecasting, preparing miniprojekt under which elaborates the vision selected area of research and development in the field of engineering production

Lecture:
written test - scoring. There is the possibility of increasing the assessment by discussing the lectures
Final rating depends on the% of all possible points:
91-100: 5.0
81-90: 4.5
71-80: 4.0
61-70: 3.5
51-60: 3.0
0 -50: 2.0
Classes:
Evaluation criteria: assessment of the work in class (0-6 points), evaluation of the presentation (miniprojects) of group work (0-30 points)
Final rating depends on the% of all possible points (36)
91-100: 5.0
81-90: 4.5
71-80: 4.0
61-70: 3.5
51-60: 3.0
0 -50: 2.0
Students whose total score of miniprojects not exceed 50% must to write correction test, the maximum score to obtain is "3"
