Winter Semester 2019/20
Application of Computer Science in Electrical Engineering IS-FEE-10039
The aim of this course is to acquire the skills of using engineering software to analyse and synthesis of electrical circuits. Students will be able to evaluate and explain the results of simulation accordingthe rules of electrical engineering. They will use the software to make few projects of electric circuits of real devices. This course allows them to join the theoretical knowledge with practical skills of simulation and make some useful applications.
Introduction to PSpice. Utilization of voltage and current dividers in DC circuit analysis. Parametric analysis. Transient state in DC circuit. Ignition coil. RLC serie circuit. Switch on/off the DC voltage and current source. Use PSPICE to analyze AC steady-state circuits. Simplification of networks using Thevenin's theorems. Applying parametric analysis to find the maximum of active power. Drawing of frequency response plots for resonant circuits. Non-sinusoidal signals. Measures of electric quantities in AC circuits. Three-phase circuits. Analysis and processing of measuring data by means of spreadsheet (measures in real circuit and simulation).
Requirements:
Electrical Circuits 1, 2.
