Monolithic construction IS-FCEE-00111S
Lecture: The process of monolithic works - simple and auxiliary processes. Formwork - classification, requirements, errors in the selection of formwork. Special formwork, e.g. tunnel, lost, ACS. Preparation of the concrete mix - concrete mixing plants (division and characteristics). Modern mobile concrete plants. Long and close transport of concrete mix. Conditions for laying concrete. Pressure of the concrete mix for formwork. Concrete compaction. Special concreting methods (spraying, underwater concreting, two-stage). Concrete care in winter and summer conditions. Concreting of massive structures and diaphragm walls. Nanotechnology in concrete. Concrete mix recycling.
Design exercises - a project for comparative analysis of variant solutions of monolithic slab formwork.

EU1 - Knows and deeply understands selected issues in the field of monolithic works technology
EU2 - Knows and understands the principles of analysis and design of simple processes in the complex process of monolithic works. Selects machines and devices for individual processes. Can make a critical analysis of existing solutions and evaluate these solutions.
EU3- in an extended range knows the standard rules and guidelines for the design of processes in monolithic robots in the aspect of concrete durability. He knows the safety rules.
EU4 - Knows the main development trends in monolithic construction. Knows modern technologies and devices necessary for the implementation of monolithic construction
EU5 - Is able to assess threats in the implementation of a complex process of monolithic works and implement appropriate principles of safety and health protection.
EU6 - is ready to recognize the importance of knowledge in solving problems in the field of monolithic construction and the responsible fulfillment of professional obligations and continuous training.
Assessment criteria
Lecture: informative lecture, problem lecture
Project: project method, discussion in working teams
Completion of the lecture: written form, you can get from 0 to 100 points. The range of points corresponding to a given grade is given in the rules of passing.
Passing the project:
The basis for receiving a positive assessment is the performance and written defense of the project.
The basis for obtaining a satisfactory grade is obtaining a minimum of 51 out of 100 points possible to obtain (both for the project and for its defense).
The final grade consists of:
- grade from the design exercise - 50% (weight)
- project defense - 50% (weight)
