Description:
The purpose of this module is to: introduce classification, properties and testing of technical properties of concrete constituents, fresh and hardened concrete; teach how to select proper concrete constituents and design concrete composition; describe processes in concrete production.

Building aggregates - graining
Gypsum and lime binders - gypsum initial setting time
Hydraulic binders - testing of cement class and setting times
Building mortars - mix proportioning and testing of mortar consistency
Concrete mix proportioning using paste method.
Concrete mix proportioning using Paszkowski's method.
Light-weight concrete proportioning and testing

Laboratory -performance of all laboratory exercises included in syllabus, preparation of a written report from all laboratory exercises, written tests for all laboratory exercises (ranges of material for these tests are included in the last point of the reports).
