Subject description: This course consists three tasks in the field of lighting and illumination
To teach students to be able to read photometric curves and use various illumination catalogues and resources. To develop students' understanding of luminance depending on the quality of spaces. To focus on proper ways of illumination which considers various urban and architectural factors.
To design illumination of an interior in a communal space. To develop more in depth knowledge of illumination. To develop an understanding of the rules and ways of creating unique ambience in a space, with consideration of the viewer's visual comfort and safety.
Skills and knowledge that students will gain:
* Basic information about light sources
* Historical knowledge about lighting design.
* Information about leading lighting designers and how to use light in interiors.
