Computer Ethics IPSA4103
Course content:
1. Normative systems and their function in the society.
2. Philosophy and ethics -basic terminological dispositions.
3. Principal conceptions of normative ethics.
4. Selected problems of professional deontology: the function of professional ethics' norms; codes of professional.
5. The computer scientist's profession as a 'liberal profession' belongs to the group of so called 'information professions'; the principal values required in the execution of this.
6. Computer and information ethics - a discussion about conceptual issues; moral standards while executing computer scientist's profession.
7. Moral norms and legal norms: code of ethics or Internet law? (the protection of users' rights; copyright; civil and legal protection of computer software, e-mail account protection, spam protection; the right of privacy and Internet; the legal-penal protection -cybercrime).
8. Credit.
