Embedded Systems IPSA3204
Course content:
Lectures:
Base informations related to control and embedded systems. Architectures of microcontrollers. Logic schematics of a microcontroller and its features, elements of an architecture, addressing modes, interrupt systems, power reduction, etc. PIC microcontrollers.
Programmable logic devices: PLD and FPGA as the base of embedded systems. SOPC systems. Hardware description languages. Verilog HDL. Design of reliable embedded systems.
Specialist lab:
Practical design of embedded systems using PIC microcontrollers and programmable logic devices using the Verilog HDL.
Learning outcomes:
Knowledge of design methods of embedded systems based on microcontrollers.
Knowledge of design methods of embedded systems based on programmable logic devices.
Knowledge of using tool for design, modelling and testing of embedded systems.
