Course content:
1. Universities, types of degrees, life on a campus etc.
2. Ways of speaking, people’s relationships etc.
3. Colloquial language, omitting parts of sentences in everyday speech.
4. Sayings and proverbs.
5. Human mind and its capabilities, creativity, etc.
6. A description of a place, tourist board websites etc.
7. Specialist content and vocabulary, depending on the type of course.
Writing:
1. Accurate writing – spelling: homophones and apostrophes.
2. Accurate writing – connecting words.
3. Short task – a description of a place for a website.
Grammar:
1. Past and present tenses – the use of Simple Past and Present Perfect in specific situations.
2. Cleft sentences with “what” and “it.”
3. Relative clauses with prepositions.
4. Common adverbial phrases.
5. Participle clauses.
6. Adjective word order.
Learning outcomes:Further work on language skills, working towards C1 level.

Satisfactory (grade 3.0):
The student's overall score for the semester is in the range of 51 - 69 points.
Satisfactory (grade 3.5):
The student's overall score for the semester is in the range of 70 - 76 points.
Good (grade 4.0):
The student's overall score for the semester is in the range of 77 - 83 points.
Good (grade 4.5):
The student's overall score for the semester is in the range of 84 - 89 points.
Excellent (grade 5.0)
The student's overall score for the semester is in the range of 90 - 100 points.
