Planning of Road Engineering Infrastructure GS4028
Course content:
Transportation systems and plans of their development. Functional and technical classification of roads. Horizontal and vertical roads alignment, road cross-section elements. Problems of road surface and subsurface drainage. Road network in city plannings. Public transport policy - development strategies, characteristics and priorities for public transport, pedestrians and cyclists. Basis of traffic engineering. Railroads - characteristics and construction's elements. Engineering objects: bridges, flyovers, viaducts, culverts, tunnels. Characteristic of road materials. Environmental protection issues of road network planning.

Learning outcomes
Acquired knowledge of basis rules of designing simple road engineering objects: local roads and railways. Getting basis knowledge in the scope of traffic engineering processes and city transport development priorities.
Assessment criteria
Final test. Evaluation depends on the percentage of gathered points:
0-50% - 2,0
51-60% - 3,0
61-70% - 3,5
71-80% - 4,0
81-90% - 4,5
91-100% - 5,0
