Course content: The part and the task of geodesy.
Maps and geodetic studies in local spatial planning.
Geodetic measuring apparatus.
Geodetic reference system.
The methods of map projections.
Geodetis coordinate systems.
Situation measurements - geodetic frames, measuring methods (rectangular method, polar method).
High measurements - high frames, measuring methods (geometrical levelling, trigonometrical levelling), terrain levelling.
GPS (Global Positioning System).
Economic maps, methods of cartographic presentation.
Measurements on maps (coordinates, lengths, fields of surface, volumes).
Photogrammetry and remoty sensing..

Learning outcomes: Ability to perform basic measurements of the situation and working at heights and on maps at different scales.

Assessment criteria

Assessment of the course:
- Pass a written test of lectures (at the applicable rate scale)
- Assessment exercise, which consists of the evaluation of the written test and technical sampling (according to the current scale of assessments)
- Assessment workshop, which consists of measuring operators' assessment and evaluation of the test (according to the current rating scale)
