Painting 1 GRP1059
To acquaint the student with the basic skills of use
painting techniques. Preparing the student to use the language of color communication freely. Thematic scope of the classes:
1. Presentation of selected drawing tools. Discussion of the possibilities of their use in art works. Discussion of the scope of individual tasks and the criteria for their completion and evaluation.
2. Acquainting with the basic principles in painting. Learning to obtain color relationships on a plane. Learning to use a color spot, value and chiaroscuro in acrylic techniques.
3. Painterly, realistic representation of inanimate composition. Analyzing the colors of the selected frame, the mutual relations of elements and the interplay of color and lines, presenting color relationships in cold tones. Maintaining value contrast and a narrow color range. Exercises in using stain, value and chiaroscuro in acrylic techniques.
4. Presentation of color relationships in warm tones.
5. Composition in the interior taking into account the proportions and relations in space. Using geometry and perspective in painting techniques.
6. Composing an image showing the relationship between individual elements, learning to choose a frame in terms of the importance of the stressed element.
7. Painting study of the anatomy of the human body - working with a model.
8. Painting compositions - home exercises.

Learning outcomes
1. Student uses painting techniques in an advanced way
2. Can use the palette of cold and warm colors in the composition and building artistic tension in the image.
3. Can make a composition of a picture showing a still life and a figure
3. Knows human anatomy at the level supporting the painting representations of the model
4. Knows the basic painting trends and techniques known from the history of art.
Assessment criteria

1. Reviews of painting works to assess the student's progress and learning processes
2. Consultation based on the performed housework.
3. Corrections and class attendance
Assessment criteria:
1st grade 5.0 - Execution of 15 compulsory program works of outstanding artistic value, presentation of homework
2nd grade 4.5 - Execution of 15 compulsory program works of high artistic value, presentation of homework
3rd grade 4.0 - Completion of 15 compulsory program works with compositional and color correctness, presentation of homework
4. grade 3.5 - Performing 15 compulsory program works while maintaining the compositional and color correctness,
5th grade 3.0 - Execution of 15 compulsory program works
6. rating 2.0 - all programming works were not carried out, gross composition and color errors in the pictures
