Planning of Road Engineering Infrastructure GB4028
Course content:
Lectures:
Characteristic of land transportation. Horizontal and vertical roads alignment, road cross-section elements. Elements of road surface and subsurface drainage. Public transport policy - development strategies, characteristics and priorities for public transport, pedestrians and cyclists. Basis of traffic engineering. Railroads - characteristics and construction's elements. Engineering objects: bridges, flyovers, viaducts, culverts, tunnels.

Learning outcomes
Acquired knowledge of basis rules of designing simple road engineering objects: local roads and railways. Getting basis knowledge in the scope of traffic engineering processes and city transport development priorities.
Assessment criteria
Final test. Evaluation depends on the percentage of gathered points:
0-50% - 2,0
51-60% - 3,0
61-70% - 3,5
71-80% - 4,0
81-90% - 4,5
91-100% - 5,0
