Electric Power Networks ES2B101101
Course content:
The classification and requirements of electric power networks. Electric networks models and schemes. The calculation of load flow, short circuit fault levels, losses (power and energy), and voltage drops. The methods of the cross-section calculation and choice of electric power lines. Reactive power phenomenon, results and mitigation in electric power lines. The transmission networks double side supplied with the same voltages in the feeding points (ring network) and with different voltages in the feeding points. Design of overhead and cable electric power network. Calculation of the customer power loads. Choice of number, power and location of MV/LV transformer substations. Designing the routs of MV and LV overhead and cable lines. Selection of type and conductor size of MV and LV lines.
Learning outcomes:
Students will acquire knowledge in the scope of designing and exploitation of distribution and system power grides.
