Optimization Methods in Power Engineering ES1A711254
Course content: Optimization and analysis of decision making processes. Criteria of selection of optimal decision. Optimization methods based on mathematical programming. Optimization of development of electric power system. Linear programming problem. Simplex method. Integer linear programming problem. Branch and bound method. Optimization of selection power generation units. Transportation problems. Optimization of fuel delivery to power stations. Maximum flow in electric power networks problem. Flow with minimal cost in electric power networks. Maintenance shedule optimization for power station and distribution networks equipment. Dynamic programming problem. Selected optimization issues solving thanks to computer software.
Learning outcomes: Student will be skilled in formulating and solving of the analytical models assigned for carrying out optimization in power engineering.
