Electrical Power Economy ES1A611252
Course content:Power resources and their utilization. The production and utilization of electric energy in Poland and in the world. Loads in industry. The graph of active load and load fluctuation factors. Peak load calculation methods. Electric loads forecast. Reactive load fluctuation. Losses characteristic of electric power equipment. Power losses, parallel operation of transformers. Annual costs as a economic criterion of a choice of optimal variant. Economical effects of combined economy. Parameters optimization in combined systems and diversification of costs in electric power combined economy. Energy-consumption of economy and methods of its reduction.
Learning outcomes:Students learn the relationship between the shape of the load curve of the power system and electrical energy costs. They can analyze the impact of power factor on the cost of energy transmission. They get the skills to use methods of analysis of the investment efficiency in electrical power system.
