Electric Power Networks ES1A510202
Course content:
The classification and requirements of electric power networks. Electric networks models and schemes. The calculation of load flow, short circuit fault levels, power and energy losses, and voltage drops. The methods of voltage controls. The methods of the cross-section calculation and choice of electric power lines. Reactive power phenomenon, results and mitigation in electric power lines. Except of a calculation in laboratory activity. Design of urban cable network. Calculation municipal consumers load. Choice of power and location of MV/LV transformer substations. Designing the routs of MV and LV cable lines. Selection of MV/LV transformers. Establish of normal and emergency network configuration. Selection of type and conductor size of MV and LV cables. Selection of cable joints and protections. Study of cable lines crossing.
Learning outcomes:
Students will acquire knowledge in the scope of designing and exploitation of distribution power grides.
