Course content:
Structure and organization electric power systems. Classification of electric power networks. Definitions and calculations of power losses and voltage drops in low voltage electric networks. Production of electricity in different technologies. Energy conversion in power plants. Protection systems in electric power networks.
Introduction to protective relaying to be aplied in power systems. Requirements for protective relays. Criteria of identification of disturbances in power systems. Main ideas of protective relays operation. Reliability of power systems - main indices and methods of their evaluation.
Rankine cycle. Calculation of parameters for power plant cycle. Calculation of efficiency of electric power objects.
Learning outcomes: Learning of the fundamentals issues on power generation, transmission and distribution.
