Topics related to academic life, current affairs and problems of the modern world, as well as the basic issues in the field of study. Elements of the English grammar present in the analysed texts.

Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete the module:
- can use English in accordance with the requirements for the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages,
- can understand texts on different issues in the modern world, including texts containing the basic terminology in the students' field of study,
- can understand oral production concerning various issues in the modern world, including production containing the basic terminology of their field of study,
- can take active part in discussions on familiar topics.
Assessment criteria
Evaluation based on tests, oral and written homework assignments, class discussions. Completing the semester successfully is necessary to take the examination. The final grade for the semester is the examination grade.
