Geology and geomorphology EK205
Lectures:
Earth's structure, rocks and minerals. Endogenic forces and forms. Weathering, mass-movements and runoff, denaudation forms. Mountain glaciers (origin, types, movement) and continental ice-sheet, deposits and forms of ice-sheet direct activity. Melting water activity, deposits and forms. Main types of ice-sheet melting and land surface forms related to it.
Frost processes and forms in the cold climate. Wind activity, deposits and aeolian forms. River activity, river valleys and terraces. Lakes, genetic and biological types, lake deposits. Quarternary stratigraphy. Geology and geomorphology of north-eastern Poland.
The glaciers and continental ice-sheets, deposits and landforms. Activity of the melt water, deposits and landforms. End moraines and glacial channel. Kames and marginal kames. The types of deglaciation. Old-glacial relief. Young-glacial relief. The frost processes and the landforms in the periglacial climate. The activity of the wind and the aeolian landforms. The fluvial processes, river valley and the terraces.
