Course content: the levels of life organization; description of Prokaryota and Eukaryota; plant and animal tissues; metabolism of autotrophic and heterotrophic organisms; viruses, bacteria, algas, fungi, protozoa and some multicellular organisms; the effect of physical and chemical elements on microorganisms; the role of microorganisms in natural environment; elementary hydrobiology, biology of polluted waters; eutrophication of surface waters; biological sewage treatment.
Learning outcomes: acquirements of morfology and physiology of organisms; understanding of biological and biochemical processes in cells of organisms and natural environment; competence in practical application of these processes.
