Teaching methods: lecture, specialist workshop
The lectures scope:
selected historical events associated with the development of computing, basic concepts - computer science key definitions, methods of preparing algorithms, structure and function of operating systems; computer hardware – basic components: motherboard, cpu, main memory, data storage devices; communication via computer networks.
The specialist workshop scope:
Calculations in spreadsheet: methods of solving mathematical problems applying relative and absolute references to cells, making decisions by IF function, presentation of calculation results by graphs, determining results of convergent series;
Introduction to programming - solving mathematical problems by preparing short programs in SCILAB.

1. Checking the skills in calculations: application of functions to solve mathematical problems in a spreadsheet, conditional statement, graphs
2. Checking the skills in programming by preparing short programs to solve mathematical problems in Scilab applying: for, if, while instructions.
