Learning outcomes
A student who has completed the course:
- Describes the technologies of road construction
- Characterized by machinery and equipment in the construction of the road structure
- Knows flowsheets performing layers of road pavement construction
- Knows how to design pavement structures by directory methods
Assessment criteria
Lectures:
Written exam consists of 4 questions. Questions are rated by the teacher on a scale 2,0-3,0-3,5-4,0-4,5-5,0. Considers necessary condition to obtain a minimum credit ratings of each question 3.0. Final assessment: 3.0 (from 12 to 13 points.), 3.5 (from 13.5 to 14.5 points.), 4.0 (from 15 to 16 points), 4.5 (from 16.5 to 18pkt.), 5.0 (from 18.5 to 20 points).
The exam must be passed without the use of materials and assistance and without communicating with other people. Assessment takes about 60 minutes.
Exercise Design:
1. Correctly calculated the category of traffic in a given reference period.
2. Correctly calculated soil and water conditions.
3. Knows how to properly design a road pavement construction methods directory. He knows the technical parameters of the structural layers of the pavement.
The assessment of a good (4.0), the student:
4. Meets the requirements of paragraphs 1-3.
5. Can design a road surface construction methods in complex directory soil and water conditions and properly apply additional filtering layer and off valve layer.
6. Can design a pavement structure by any means in simple mechanistic soil and water conditions.
For a very good student (5.0):
7. Meets the requirements of paragraphs 1-6.
8. Can design a structure using mechanistic pavement in complex soil and water conditions and properly apply additional filtering layer and off valve layer.
Ratings of 3.5 and 4.5 will receive students who meet the appropriate requirements of points 1-3 and 4-6 in a very good partial or additionally meet the requirements of a higher level.
