Road earth works and dewatering of roads B36351
LECTURE
Initial information.
Soil as the building material.
Line and surface earth works.
Calculation of volume of the line and surface earth works.
Technologies of realization of the line earth structures (also in the difficult water, soil, and atmospheric conditions).
Building machines for the earth works.
Methods, machines, and devices for soil compacting.
The geosynthetic materials in the earth works – division, functions, and tasks.
Dewatering – the general principles and the basic data for the hydraulic calculations.
Surface and subsurface dewatering of roads and streets (basic data, application range, material requirements, operational requirements).
Rain sewage system.
Engineering objects connected with the road dewatering.
Dimensioning of trenches and culverts.
DESIGN
Determination of the road route location in the location plan and in the longitudinal profile, determination of the trenches and culverts locations.
Realization of the longitudinal profiles for the calculation of the earth works for the road segment.
Calculation of volume of the earth works – table of the earth works.
Realization of charts of volume and transport of the earth mass – selection of the building machines, determination of the average transport distances, calculation of the transport moment.
Determination of the road drainage area.
Dimensioning of the cross section of the road trench.
Dimensioning of the culvert clear dimensions.
