Course content:
Topics: predicting future events, determining the sequence of events, environment protection; work and education environment, history of geography, beauty and aesthetics, changes in political maps, English for Specific Purposes
Grammar: collocations of adjectives and nouns, verbs used for describing predicted future events, adjectives formed from nouns, transitive/intransitive verbs, type 1 conditional sentences, nouns for describing places, prefixes 'over-' and 'under-'
Learning outcomes:
- the ability to communicate in English properly,
- the ability to use authentic texts at work,
- passive and active command of English at the advanced level,
- working out the rules of grammar independently on the basis of texts,
- summarising texts,
- developing independent learning,
- developing the ability to work in a group,
- settling arguments through negotiations/compromising.
