Theory of Architecture 2 AUN2013
Course content:
1.Elementary concepts in architecture: idea, aesthetic, composition, function, form, space, structure, phenomenon.
2.Orders in architecture.
3.Significance in architecture - transmission of values and ideas.
4.Technical means of communication in architectural design. Designing form, function and construction of building through freehand drawing and modeling.
5.Building and landscape. Methodological basics for designing buildings in natural environment. Composition, value and features of form and space.
6.Culture and nature. Human environment in a strong connection with nature and local cultural traditions. Organic architecture and vernacular architecture.
7.Tradition and modernity. Theory of composition in contemporary architecture.
Learning outcomes:
Gaining knowledge on elementary concepts, terminology and axioms in architecture. Introduction to the traditional canon and theories in architecture.
