Structural Mechanics 1 AUN1053
Course content:
Statics and mechanics of statically determinate systems. Analysis of statically determinate systems in plane and space, their synthesis and optimization. Principles of building static schemes. Graphical and analytical methods for determining forces. Principles of modelling and combining loads. The way of load transfer between elements. Strength of structural systems. Types of stress and their determination. Determination of mechanical quantities required for design.
Learning outcomes:
Learning principles of using of statically determinate systems. Gaining skills and competence in understanding how to shape structures. Reaching abilities to build static schemes, to assume and transfer loads, to design structural elements, to identify and determine stresses and mechanical quantities, to shape optimal structures from different materials.
