Rural Settlements - Case Study AUM2015
Course content:
A. Conceptual study of service of rural population and agriculture including: places of service concentration and service programmes; delimitation of problem areas and optional solutions of service management for these areas; revision of transport structure.
B. Landscape study of a selected fragment of the rural commune territory indicating principles and possible directions in transformation of settlement landscape adjusted to contemporary requirements in compliance with protection of local preserved values of cultural and natural landscape.

Learning outcomes
Gaining skills for solving problems in spatial planning and architecture of rural areas. Sensitizing students to problems of rural areas as well as regional issues and material culture of these territories. Making students aware of importance of the sense of identity and relationship between the man and the place he lives in.
Assessment criteria
Assessment:
1. Workshops on location, analyses of characteristic features of settling landscape and forms of local architecture.
2. Three evaluations of progression of the course project.
3. The course project with portfolio.
