Course content:.Types of regions and their identification. Identifying the methods and instruments of planning and tools supporting spatial development. Drawing up plans for regional development. The analysis of conditions and directions for regional development. The development strategy as an instrument of regional governance. Prospective studies – formulating the vision, mission and goals of development. Regional planning. Contemporary regional problems in Poland. Problems of European integration and regional cooperation. The role of EU regional policy in a regional development in Poland. Natural foundations of regional planning. Localization policy and its contemporary problems. Spatial policy of the state. Projects and their realizations on a regional scale: the urban areas, new forms of urbanization. Regional communication systems. Regional hubs of technical infrastructure.
Learning outcomes:The ability to prepare some studies on the regional planning.
