Course content:Reasons for deterioration of productive regions. Water, gully, gravity and wind erosion. Water erosion control. Agroreclamations. Shelterbelts and riparian zones. Reclamations - restoring the places of sand and gravel or peat surface extraction. Chemical deterioration of soil and its reclamations. Effect of water reclamations on organic and mineral soils. Management of agricultural and forested lands.Methods of water, gully and wind erosion mapping. Erosion control project. Shelterbelts and riparian zones projects.
Learning outcomes:Students will be prepared to understand the origins and processes causing the adverse changes of soil and productive land, to curb the adverse changes and to design the degraded land reclamations.
