Course content:
Technical requirements for buildings and their location according to building law.
Structural systems – spatial rigidity of buildings.
Basic terminology, types and tasks of the following building elements: foundations, walls, ceilings, roofs, stairs.
Ventilation, fume and smoke lines.
Requirements for strength, insulations and fire protection of building partitions.
Dilatations.
Masonry, reinforced concrete, steel and timber structures – general characteristics and application requirements.
Learning outcomes: Understanding of role and tasks of basic building elements, including structural elements; ability to estimate basic technical requirements for buildings
