Course content:
Fundamentals of computer methods of roads designing – the hardware, the software, initial data, data banks, CAD technologies, the universal flow of data. Systems and computer programs to roads designing. Digital terrain models - creating and the structure, methods of the interpolation of the height, using in designing roads. Sources of data to digital terrain models. Methods of the optimization of the horizontal alignment. Methods of the optimization of the vertical alignment.

Learning outcomes: Acquaintance with the present methods of the road design, digital land models and methods of the geometrical optimization.
