Advanced steel structures X02314
Course content:Hollow sections members. The general characteristics, scope of application, advantages and faults of steel constructions made of hollow sections. Structural steels. Designing of truses made of hollow sections. Uniplanar and multiplanar truses. Classification of joints. Welded joints between CHS members. Welded joints between CHS or RHS brace members and RHS chord members. Calculating of truses members: axial tension, axial compresion, buckling resistance. Calculating of frame mambers, bending moments, torsional moments, bending and axial tension. Bolted joints. Structures made of hollow section. Examples of realisation.
