Course content:
Introduction to database and data warehouse systems, basic terminology. History of database systems progress as well as theirs position and role in informatics system. Concept of relational model of data: terminology of relation, modelling of connections, notion of data integrity. The other models of data.The basics of SQL: definition and modification of data, queries, control of data. Design and management of database: determine parameters of system, user interface, processing and optimisation of queries, protection, encoding and restoration of data. Transactions: model, processing. Physical structures of database systems. Problems of design and construction of warehouse: design periods, definition of needs, assessment of data surroundings. Trends of database and data warehouse systems progress.

Written test based on the percentage of correctly answers granted by the students.
