Course content:
Topics: consumerism, describing objects, doing shopping, leisure time activities, degrees of certainty, technology, interpersonal communication, scientific achievements, family relationships, reviews, reports, writing articles, English for Specific Purposes
Grammar: reported speech and the sequence of tenses - sentence transformation; type 1 conditional sentences, infinitives or gerunds after selected verbs, expressing certainty/assumptions, prefixes and suffixes used with adjectives
Learning outcomes:- the ability to communicate in English properly,
- the ability to use authentic texts at work,
- passive and active command of English at the upper-intermediate level,
- working out the rules of grammar independently on the basis of texts,
- summarising texts,
- developing independent learning,
- developing the ability to work in a group,
- settling arguments through negotiations/compromising.
