Learning outcomes:

Term 2012Z:

General introduction to the concept of a treatment and disposal of sewage sludge. Discussion of the basic processes used in sludge treatment plants. Presentation of the legal aspects relating to the Polish law and USA. Analysis of the existing sludge management in selected European country as well as in Poland and in the region of Podlasie. Methods for the final disposal of sludge. Sewage sludge management plans. Discussion of issues related to the sludge generated during water treatment. Getting to know the real objects and node WTP sludge wastewater treatment plant in the region.

Analysis of the sludge in the wastewater treatment system selected. Site visits, documentation shooting.
Establishing the concept of technological solutions sludge wastewater treatment plant node. Technical description, schematics equipment for processing sewage sludge, calculation and selection of the equipment required equipment based on proprietary materials and websites. Creating a mass balance on the wastewater treatment plant. Calculating the amount of sludge and their parameters change during processing. Prepare a multimedia presentation.
