Instrumental Methods in Environmental Pollution Analysis O12020
Course content: Application of instrumental analytical chemistry in environmental pollution monitoring. Methodology and equipment applied for environmental samples collection and sample preparation. Bases of atomic spectroscopy. Atomic emission spectrometry (AES). Flame emission spectroscopy, spectrography, flame atomic emission spectrometry. Atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). Application of atomic spectroscopy. Elements of molecular spectroscopy. Spectrophotometry UV-Vis. Bases of chromatography. Gas chromatography (GC) as a basic method used in determination volatile organic compounds. Mass spectrometry coupled with gas chromatography. High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and its use in determination of organic compounds. Methods based on ionic radiation detection. Bases of electroanalitical methods. Potentiometry and conductometry in monitoring of environmental pollution. Results preparation.
