Industrial computer networks MKAR2S12002
Basic of industrial networks: PROFIBUS and PROFINET. Physical layer, cabling, parameters. Types of data transmission, communication’s protocols and bus data access methods. Fundamentals of PROFIBUS DP and PROFINET IO. Isochronous real-time (IRT) mode, layers and addressing of PROFINET IO active and passive components. Programming of synchronous and asynchronous data exchange in PROFIBUS DP and PROFINET IO based on the SIMATIC. Diagnostic of PROFIBUS DP and PROFINET IO: diagnostic functions, errors detects and faults localization, monitoring, alarms and software blocks of PLC to data errors recording.

Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- properly configure and parameters set-up of the industrial networks: PROFIBUS DP and PROFINET IO,
- programming of data exchange in the real-time industrial control systems,
- hardware configuration knowledge of distributed peripheral control devices,
- performing diagnostic software methods,
- topology and start-run of the industrial networks components and their service.
Assessment criteria
Lectures – final exam, after received a credits for a labs and projects.
Labs – properly performed labs and reports, also final practical short-task exam.
Project – properly performed two projects and reports in form of industrial technical documentations.
