Course content:
Introduction to the Internet, understand the basic history to the Internet. XHTML (Extensible Hypertext Markup Language) web site development skills, hyperlinking, typography, layout, tables and frames. Links and images. CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) - selector type, values, common properties. JavaScript introduction, variables, if-else, switch operators, popups, functions, loops. Forms, events, and event handling. JavaScript objects.
Learning outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to using the three methods that have been used since Web design first began: hand-coding HTML using a text editor, building Web pages using a WYSIWYG editor, and using the most modern method which enable to making it easy for non-technical users to update a site. Also the students will cover design principles, Cascading Style Sheets, client-side technologies, and web browsers.
