Course content:
Lecture:
Parametric modeling theory. How to capture design intent, build smarter parts and maximize geometric control. Top-down technique in assembly modelling. Work with add-ins in the SolidWorks environment. API programming in parametric CAD system environment. Using CAE tools to numerical simulations
Design:
Defining parametric CAD models. Development of API code to automate the design work. Creation of assembly using layout sketches and planes and assembly modeling with incontext design techniques.
Learning outcomes: Advanced skills of geometrical modeling in parametric CAD systems (SolidWorks)
